The Holidays

The CDI gets holidays off which allowed me to spend extra time with my family this year. For thanksgiving I went to my Girlfriend's family for dinner which is the first time I have been to any other thanksgiving dinner that was not with my family. My family spent this year in San Diego because my little brother had a soccer tournament so it was unavoidable. I would say it was a pretty good day I mean there was turkey, pumpkin pie, football, and favorable beverages, there was plenty to be thankful for. I look forward to Christmas and the new years celebration as well. With my current schedule I don't get as much time as I would like to spend with my family. The holidays are a good remedy for that. Spending time with my family is rejuvenating for me and a reminder of why I am working so hard to get where I want to be.

  1. • Hi Zachary, This is the first time I’ve had the days after thanksgiving off since I graduated high school. I decided to head home to LA to spend the holiday with family too. It is totally refreshing to work somewhere that allows us to spend such valuable time with my family. Especially in the Non Profit and Public sectors, it is so easy to get wrapped up in the job and unintentionally neglect personal life.

  2. Hi Zachary, it sounds like you had a great Thanksgiving. This was also the first year I spent the holiday away from my family. I can definitely relate about not getting much time with them and being so grateful to finally have some free time to do so! Hope you enjoy your winter break!

  3. It is always good to be thankful for the time we do have even when it is short. We had Thanksgiving off as well and I was able to spend them with my husband’s family. It’s challenging to balance all of the demands of work, school and life so the time we do have is something to be grateful for.
